Kelly Rutherford, who plays Lily van der Woodsen-Bass-Humphrey on Gossip Girl, is in the middle of a battle so dramatic, it totes rivals the whole Gabriel running away with Dan’s college tuition money plotline this season.  Seems that Kelly sent a private eye to watch over her estranged husband Daniel while he cared for their toddler son, Hermes, as part of a plan for Kelly to expose Daniel’s lack of parenting skills – but all this private eye came up with was that Daniel left the swimming pool in his backyard uncovered.  Um, hello?  Kelly should have OBVS sent Gossip Girl to report back from the scene.  She def would have uncovered MUCH juicier secrets than uncovered pools…like uncovered MYSTERIES AND LIES.

There was allegedly no love lost between Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlett Johansson on the set of Iron Man 2.  Gwyneth was mad that ScarJo was getting attention and getting to wear “sexy catsuits.”  A source says, “Gwyneth and Scarlett haven’t developed a friendship on the shoot.”

I don’t get why this is such a big deal.  The press is making it to be all, like, oooooh Gwyneth is jealz of ScarJo’s style, and ScarJo is all getting the attention and blah blah blah.  But, like, what if they just want to come to set, get their work done, and do their own thing?  This is totes like the time Dr. Plager made me be lab partners with Fiona Maroni in biology.  Fiona and I had words a few years back ‘cuz she told everyone I had lice (which was true, but, LBH, every kid gets lice) and then Jake wouldn’t go near me and me and Fiona stopped being friends, but not before I spread a rumor that her grandmother was really her mother and her mother was really her sister.  Anyway, me and Fiona stayed far away from each other…UNTIL Dr. Plager made us lab partners.  But we both wanted to do well, so we came to lab, we did our work, we used our dissecting tools to cut frogs and not each other, and I got a B+.  So, everyone, just let Gwyneth and ScarJo get their B+s.  Thanks.

For this week’s Q&A, we were totes lucky to talk to Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld, stars of Jake & Amir, The College Humor Show,  and our wildest fantasies in gen.  Not only were they absolutely adorable and wicked funny, they gave great advice – such as, why takebacks don’t work, the best way to drop a few pounds, what color t-shirts are hot for summer, and why we should never be jealz of our boyfriend’s exgirlfriends.

QUESTION: Are you for reals besties?  Do you ever get into fights?
Amir: We’re closer than best friends. We make soul mates look like acquaintances.
Jake: I don’t know if that’s true.
Amir: And we’ve NEVER gotten into a fight.
Jake: Though one time Amir wanted to throw a football at my head for a video and I really didn’t want him to. He eventually got his way, but we argued about it for a while. Not that I’m still bitter…
Amir: Yeah I’ve probably hit Jake more times on camera than I have anybody else in real life. I guess I can get my aggression out in the videos so we never fight in reality.

QUESTION: We saw that you posted a video about  hot summer trends—what are your fave looks for the summer season?
Amir: I’m gonna say it – I think shirts are gonna be big this summer.
Jake: Wow. That’s such a broad statement.
Amir: Let me finish. Colored T-shirts. Or white ones.
Jake: Also broad.

QUESTION: Which celeb would you absolutely love to have guest star in one of your skits?
Jake: It’d be pretty awesome if we could give my character a lovestory with Natalie Portman.
Amir: If I had to choose one dream guest it would probably be Larry David starring himself as my father. Second is maybe Ashton Kutcher as my older brother — You guys can hook that up, right?*

QUESTION: Where do you find your inspiration?
Jake: Amir’s character is an amalgamation of a whole bunch of different people we have known throughout our lives. Insecure, annoying, people who desperately want to look cool. Also, sometimes we base jokes on things that have really happened. For instance, we went on vacation to Florida once and I got REALLY sun burned, so we wrote it into a video. It’s great, because sometimes a video makes my real stupidity look like Amir’s.
Amir: So you could say, Jake is the inspiration for the Amir character.
Jake: But you’d be mostly wrong.
Amir: But you COULD say that.

QUESTION: Who is the bigger train wreck: Britney or Winehouse?
Amir: Definitely Winehouse!
Jake: Do you know who that is?
Amir: I don’t have to.
Jake: To answer that question you do.

QUESTION: Since you guys are obvs not strangers to internet video sensations, which would you say is your favorite viral video?
Jake: I can never watch that George Washington rap video without laughing.
Amir: I should really think of an answer for this because I get asked it a lot. Most recently I’m probably into that kids choir singing “Eye of the Tiger.”

QUESTION: If you could take the credit and say you invented anything, what would it be?
Amir: I DID invent something. It’s a dog that mows your lawn. I call it Dog-Mower.
Jake: That wasn’t the question. And that’s a terrible invention.
Amir: So you come up with something better.
Jake: Anything was better than that. You accidentally killed a puppy.
Amir: Two puppies and it was an accident.
Jake: I said accidentally.
Amir: Good.

QUESTION: We watched your show on MTV, and College Humor looks like a pretty rad place to work.  How did you get your jobs there?  How can we get jobs there?
Jake: We both started writing for the site while we were in college. Just submitting articles and stuff like that. When Amir graduated they brought him on to help write our book, The CollegeHumor Guide to College. I came on as an intern while I was in school a few years later, and then never left.

QUESTION: Where is the perf place to take a girl on a third date?
Amir: THIRD BASE!
Jake: God that’s inappropriate.
Amir: That’s the name of a bar.
Jake: Really?
Amir: No.

QUESTION: Should girls ever be jealous of boyfriend’s ex-girlfriends?
Jake: Not unless the boyfriend is still all hung up on them, but if that’s the case then jealousy isn’t your only problem.
Amir: Yeah, you also have bad body odor.
Jake: Not what I meant.

QUESTION: Will you guys ever have a Prank War, or is that just an Amir and Streeter thing? If so, Jake, does that make you feel left out?
Jake: Ha, that’s Amir and Streeter’s thing. And no, I won’t ever be jealous. I like being able to sleep at night.

QUESTION: Swine flu: legit disease, or passing craze?
Amir: Passing craze. Cray-zay in my nay-zay.
Jake: I think it’s an actual disease.
Amir: Me too. I wanna change my answer.
Jake: Just go back and change your answer.
Amir: That’s cheating.

QUESTION: Have you guys ever actually done the master cleanse?  Do you have any diet and exercise tips?
Jake: That episode “Master Cleanse” was actually based on my attempt to do the Master Cleanse. I didn’t make it a day. But I do try to run a few times a week. My health advice would be to not drink too much and to stay away from soda and chips. Although I have a hard time listening to my own advice.
Amir: I’ve never done the master cleanse as I enjoy food too much. My diet advice is also to avoid soda and fast food. Also oatmeal for breakfast. It may look disgusting but it tastes like a delicious melting cookie!

QUESTION: We love the way you guys dress – classy casual with all the cardigans and button downs and sweaters.  Where do you get your style inspiration? Where do you shop so we can tell the boys at school?
Jake: Thanks! I don’t know who I get inspiration from, sometimes I just see people on the street with clothes that I want. But usually I just try to dress myself in what I feel comfortable in. It’s a lesson I learned after wearing JNCO Jeans for too long in 6th grade. I usually shop at The Gap, J. Crew and try my luck at Salvation Army.
Amir: I usually just hit up Jake’s closet for anything he no longer wears.
Jake: Most of that stuff doesn’t fit you, man.
Amir: Whatevero.

Miranda Cosgrove, star of Nickelodeon’s iCarly, celebrated her Sweet Sixteen this weekend at Siren Studios.  Here’s how the party went down:

All in all, a pretty standard Sweet Sixteen.  I kind of love how Miranda’s all just kickin it with her costars and having a simple party with simple presents.  No blowouts, no boozing, no unfortunate paparazzi photos.  Miranda even talked about normal kid things, like getting her driver’s license and going to college.  “I’m getting excited about maybe going to another state for college,” says Miranda. “I want to go to NYU and branch out, be somewhere else for a while.  My parents want me to go to USC!”

Ahhhh – she even has little quarrels with her parents that don’t result in emancipation or executors of estates.  It’s teens like Miranda who restore my faith in the Hollywood machine.  Thank you, Miranda!

FUTURE WEDDING?!: Suri Cruise and Cruz Beckham. I hate to say “I told you so,” but – I told you so.  Reports are out that Suri Cruise totes has a crush on Cruz Beckham, and even draws him pictures and brings him cupcakes!  The tots both take art classes at LA’s Children’s Art Studio, and practice their French and Spanish together before lessons.  How cute will it be when they are each other’s prom dates in ten a few years??  Will their celeb couple name just be SuriCruz?  Will that be weird?

I have a few issues with this list, Ms. Meddler.  Race-car drivers are exciting in a “OMG if this car turns a corner too fast this car will totally blow up” sort of way.  Who wants to date someone whose job is to basically defy death?  Also, someone not in show business?   That means you’re just unfairly denying Jen a whole crop of hotties for no reason.    And this whole someone “really hot” who has “a lot of money” thing is, like, totes the thing my mom always warns me about!  Cuz she’s all, looks fade and money disappears – and then what if Jen is stuck with a broke-ass Scrooge?!  Then what happens, Meddler?!  Sounds you might just be setting poor Jen up for heartache!

LiLo is set to star in the indie fantasy comedy “The Other Side.”  LiLo will play a grad student who spends a summer working at a research institute on a remote island, and discovers a community of people hiding a secret about a tragedy that took place years earlier.  Director David Michaels says, “Lindsay’s very aware of people’s perceptions of her, and she’s really committed to doing what she has to in order to change that.”

I have a few issues with this being LiLo’s “comeback” movie.  First off, it sounds a little too much like LOST for my taste.  Not that I’m hating on LOST or anything.  Just, remote island?  Research institute?  Community?  Been there, done that.   Second, it stars Dave Matthews and Alanis Morissette.  LiLo used to co-star with Tina Fey, Jamie Lee Curtis, Meryl Streep… Now she’s teamed with pop icons who reached their peak in the 90s? Also, the film is a “comedy” but it’s about people who are hiding a “tragedy.”  How is tragedy comical? That doesn’t even make sense.  LiLo, I know times are tough, and the time has come to Change Perceptions in Hollywood, but are you SURE that this is the role that will do that for you?

Shia LaBeouf is back behind the director’s chair, this time directing a video for “I Never Knew You,” a song by artist and BFF Cage a.k.a Chris Palko. Everything was looking great for the duo until, earlier this morning, disaster struck!

The vid, which was due to premiere on MTV this coming Monday, was STOLEN and LEAKED!  Cage Tweeted about the experience: “Someone broke into Shias house and leaked it [the music video]. it has since been taken down the man is in custody Shia is okay.”

Um, WTF? First of all, what is up with all these celebs getting their houses broken into?  First LiLo, now Shia? Secondly, Shia, if you need anyone to help comfort you, I am fully available, ready, and willing!   And, thirdly, to the people who broke in: all you did was leak a video?  Really?  You couldn’t at least have sent out a diary entry or two?

When it comes to lipstick, I bet most of you gals will go “but I’m a lipgloss girl!” Me too actually.  I love how gloss is fuss free, fun and won’t dry out my lips. However, I recently gave Max Factor’s new Vivid Impact Lipcolor a try and I have to say- that’s not bad either! The lipstick is super light and smooth, richly pigmented and incredibly moisturizing. In fact, I spoke to a makeup artist who uses this lipstick on his celebrity clients, and he said that they love how soft it keeps their lips and unlike with glosses, hair won’t get stuck on their mouths while they’re getting photographed on the red carpet.

My favorite color of the bunch is Bitten,  an universally flattering berry red. It’s a nice contrast to any skin tone and gives your lips a nice deep, feminine look. To make your lips look fuller, simply dab a tiny bit of pink or clear gloss on the center of your bottom lip. For all you lipgloss gals, I promise this will be the one lipstick you just might like!

QUESTION: Thoughts on holding hands in public: cute or corny?
ANSWER: Holding hands is corny in all of (but not limited to) these scenarios:
-Just engaged and taking pictures along the beach.
-Just married and heading for the limo.
-Teenagers.
-Outside my apartment.
-Pretty much anywhere you remind me I’m still single.

QUESTION: Truth: you spend a lot of time with Intern Jane. Is there an office romance?
ANSWER: Who told you to ask that? Harold? Tell him that I don’t appreciate him hacking my email, and forging my handwriting on Jane’s post-its isn’t going to fool anyone….She didn’t say anything about me, did she?

QUESTION: Why are you so mean to the janitor?
ANSWER: Besides stealing my ex-girlfriends, thrusting me into promotions I don’t deserve, CLONING ME, convincing Olympic gold medalist Jennie Finch to punch me in the junk, and hitting me in the face with his mop (God knows where that’s been), I really don’t know.

QUESTION: If the elevator could play one song and one song only, what would it be?
ANSWER: We had Ronald Jenkee’s “Remix to a remix” playing for something like two weeks straight a year or two ago, but we turned it off because no one could agree on lyrics. I can’t speak for the group, but I’d love the vocals only track of “Running with the devil.”

QUESTION: Tell us what your Office War was REALLY like.
ANSWER: Office War is hell, man. You learn a lot about yourself, and how you’ll hold up against the barrage of a fully automatic Nerf machine gun. We lost a lot of good sales people out there, but we got them all back at 5pm. It’s a burden to lead your co-workers to battle against your other co-workers, but it was all worth it when I got the chance to shoot Jacob in the chest. Damn that vest.

QUESTION: Why does it seem like boys never have emotions?
ANSWER: Emotions get you hurt. The moment you start sharing your feelings, people like Harold will exploit them to personal financial gain. We’re too broke to express ourselves, basically.

QUESTION: Why are boys so bad at returning phone calls?
ANSWER: Because texts are so much easier! I don’t have to worry about what I sound like, I can write a brilliant and witty reply that seems totally off the cuff, and no one’s the wiser! Once we start talking live on the phone, the dream’s over. I like to put that off for as long as possible.

QUESTION: Do you ever not wear a tie?
ANSWER: Well, my clone came into this world in a grey blazer and brown sweater, so I usually wear a tie in the office so people can tell the two of us apart. Also, since I won’t let him into my apartment, he kind of smells. That’s another important distinction.

QUESTION: Do boys care if girls don’t like sports?
ANSWER: We prefer it! There’s nothing more distracting than trying to explain pass interference when your team’s driving, down four with fifty seconds left in the game. If girls don’t like sports, there’s even more chance they won’t come with you when you hang with the guys to watch football. On the flip side, it makes it harder to explain/seek approval when you show up on Monday morning wearing a dress and a sign that said, “I really thought the Patriots would beat the Giants.” FML.

QUESTION: You’ve had a lot of guests in your elevator. Who was your fave?
ANSWER: There’s so many! Jack Coleman from “Heroes” was all sorts of cool and a very skilled office jouster, Melora Hardin from “The Office” broke the news of our 3rd quarter sales dive really well, but Jennie Finch was the best office softball coach we could have ever had…if we actually had an office softball team. Even though she hit me pretty hard in the cash and prizes, I think we had a connection.

QUESTION: Why don’t you ever just take the stairs?
ANSWER: If I knew I was about to get into an elevator where a ninja was going to fall from the ceiling, I would. Ultimately, I always think, “what the chances that will happen again?” and…well, it happens again.

Hot!  Everyone’s talking today about whether or not Blake’s cleavage is fake, and what her dress was like, and how she was showing all this leg, but I would like to take the time to comment on her simplified make up and hair.  In a world where celebs go smokey eyed and get crazy with eye liner and eyebrows and caked make up and too red lips and poofy hair, Blake kept it simple.  Serena Van Der Woodsen and the rest of the Upper East Side would totes approve.

We’re totes going international with this week’s Q&A.  Lauren Luke is well known on the Internet for perfectly re-creating celeb make up looks (including Avril’s punk rock glam, Kim K’s smokey eyes, and Amy Winehouse’s dark liner).  She’s a celeb enthusiast, entrepreneur, and a girl after our own hearts, so we had to talk her.  Lucky for us, she was stateside promoting her new cosmetics line.  Lauren told us about the worst job ever, how to put our best face forward, and what the Queen of England looks like up close and personal.

QUESTION: Anyone that you think has a great makeup style?
ANSWER: Dita Von Teese. Classic, simple, and sexy.

QUESTION: Have you ever met a fan/viewer in person? What was the experience like?
ANSWER: I’ve had two run-ins in New York. I was a little overwhelmed at being so far away from home and being recognized. They said to me “Oh my god are you the girl from YouTube? Your videos are brilliant.” It’s hard to hear that because I don’t understand why people like me so much.

QUESTION: My mom won’t let me put her lipstick on…..my eyelids. At what age do you think girls can or should start wearing makeup, and what should they use to begin? Is there an age that’s too young?
ANSWER: Yes, there is an age that is too young. Start with neutrals and basics that you’re comfortable with. There’s plenty of time when you’re older for the wacky colors.

QUESTION: What’s your opinion on guyliner?
ANSWER: It’s a new thing. A new form of expressing yourself. All the bands are approaching it now. Men in theater have been doing it for years though. I bet more men will start doing it.

QUESTION: YOU MET THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND!!! How was that? And more importantly, how was her make up?!
ANSWER: It was something I feel honoured to have been able to do. I did look at her makeup…It was very… English. She wore the lightest of colorings.

QUESTION: We’ve noticed that you are a frequent tweeter on Twitter and Vanity Fair mentioned that you reply to all your Twitter followers! What are your thoughts on Twitter as a way to communicate with the genpop?
ANSWER: I think it’s great because you can get answers out faster than email. You can keep in touch at a face pace.

QUESTION: If I wanted to impress my soon-to-be boyfriend(s), is there a certain make up style that you recommend?
ANSWER: Wear a makeup look that you’re comfortable wearing, but don’t feel like you need to impress. They don’t care what you wear. We do that just for us.

QUESTION: Now that you’re becoming known world-wide, would you consider yourself a celebrity?
ANSWER: No, I am just me.

QUESTION: We read that you used to be a taxi dispatcher. What’s the worst job you’ve ever had? Was that it?
ANSWER: The worst was working in a bar. You get left on your own. It was very hard to serve so many people at once. It was also hard to get people to leave. The boss I worked for was a bit of a bully. I used to walk home crying most nights.

QUESTION: You state that your aim is to make people feel special. How does make up accomplish that?
ANSWER: Because it’s not for others, it’s for you. And when you feel you look good, you’re more confident and happy. That feeling spreads to others.

QUESTION: We read that your dream would be to come out with a make-up line and now that’s happening this week! What’s next for you?
ANSWER: I take everything one day at a time. It’s a lot to take in so far. I take it a day at a time. I do have a few things up my sleeve … it’s all about making people happy.

ScarJo was supposed to make her directorial debut in the upcoming movie New York, I Love You, but her short got thrown on the cutting room floor.  The theme of the movie is a bunch of random shorts about falling in love in NYC.  ScarJo’s piece had a number of things going against it: black and white (boring!), with not much dialogue (how is this poss in a movie?), labeled “unconventional” (a clear danger signal), and had Kevin Bacon as the main character (who is he again?).  To top it all off, the short was about  Kevin “finding inner peace” with a hot dog on Coney Island.  Wait, what?! Exactly.

Over half of the voters on a TVGuide.com poll think it’s time for Kara DioGuardi to leave the American Idol stage!  I feel kinda bad for her.  I mean, she was hired to give her feedback to the contestants, which she does.  And – I gotta say – it’s usually pretty helpful.  But, like, just because she isn’t saying things that make no sense like Paula or being mean like Simon or being a dawg like Randy she’s getting picked on!! This is totes like the time Mrs. Nash put me in charge of food and bev for the September to Remember homecoming dance and I made the most delish dessert bars with coconut and caramel and chocolate and peanut butter and stupid Dirk Normandie ate one and had a peanut allergy and did this weird spazzy thing on the dance floor, which I totes thought was a new move, but was actually a seizure, and then the ambulance had to come and the dance was totally ruined and somehow it was my fault when I was JUST DOING MY JOB.  Sometimes, I strongly dislike people in gen.  BTW, note the use of “strongly dislike” instead of “hate.”  My therapist says I need to take the hate out of my life.  Baby steps.

*Chris’ attorney Mark Geragos wants to get the case dismissed ENTIRELY cuz he says the leaked photo of the battered Rihanna can be considered “outrageous governmental misconduct.”  Per Geragos, Judge Patricia Schnegg granted a delay in the case – the next hearing is set for May 28.
*A legal eagle says it’s “unlikely” that a judge would dismiss the case since “it’s not police conduct at issue here.”
